Beechwood has such a long history with many outstanding alumni graduating from our school.   The Beechwood Alumni Association is spearheading this initiative and are pleased to recognize the many outstanding alumni from our school.

The criteria for recognition as an Outstanding Alumnus in the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame  includes but is not limited to:

• Outstanding achievement in a career
• Outstanding service to the community (regardless of where the alumnus lives)
• Distinguished achievement as a student, teacher, professor or administrator.
• Widespread public acclaim in the arts:  performing, visual or literary
• Extraordinary achievement as an athlete or as a coach

For selection as an Outstanding Young Alumnus, the criteria include being outstanding academically, in the career, and/or in the community. The person must be a graduate of the previous 20 years.

For selection as the Tiger Award winner, the nominee/recipient must have served the school at an outstanding level. This person may be an alumnus of Beechwood or a friend of the school.

 The purpose of the Beechwood Athletic Hall of Fame is to honor Beechwood’s top student-athletes and individuals who have made a positive impact on the local community and to provide role models for today’s student-athletes.

Guidelines for nominations:

• A deceased nominee must have passed away at least two years prior to selection into the Hall of Fame
• No active member of the Hall of Fame Committee is eligible for nomination
• No individual may nominate him or herself.

Student-Athlete Criteria:

• Must have received a varsity letter in one or more sports
• Must have significantly contributed to the athletic teams and programs of Beechwood High School
• Must have graduated from Beechwood High School
• Must have graduated at least ten years prior to their selection to the Hall of Fame

Coaches’ Criteria:

• Must have significantly contributed to the athletic program of Beechwood High School
• Must have been out of coaching (in his/her primary sport) for at least five years
• A varsity coach with at least 20 years of coaching experience is automatically eligible, upon nomination, as soon as he/she discontinues coaching in his/her primary sport

THE NEXT GROUP OF HONOREES FOR THE ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME WILL BE RECOGNIZED DURING HOMECOMING. THE RECOGNITION DINNER WILL BE THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 AND ALL HONOREES WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE  HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME ON SEPTEMBER 26.
