Beechwood has such a long history with many outstanding alumni graduating from our school.   The Beechwood Alumni Association is spearheading this initiative and are pleased to recognize the many outstanding alumni.

The criteria for recognition as an Outstanding Alumnus in the Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame  includes but is not limited to:

• Innovative Career and Academic Leadership: Outstanding achievement in a professional field, research, or academia. This honors those who have pushed boundaries and championed “innovative education” or practice in their careers while maintaining a foundation of excellence.
• Tradition of Service and Community Impact: Extraordinary service and philanthropy to their community (local, national or global), reflecting the Beechwood tradition of giving back and civic responsibility.
• Excellence in the Arts: Widespread public acclaim or profound impact in the performing, visual, literary or media arts.
• Athletic distinction: Extraordinary achievement as an athlete, coach or athletic administrator, demonstrating sportsmanship and the competitive spirit of the Tigers.

The Outstanding Young Alumnus Award recognizes graduates who are already making waves and setting an example for current Tigers.

• Must demonstrate exceptional promise or achievement in their career, academic pursuits or community leadership. They should perfectly bridge the motto: utilizing innovative thinking or leadership while remaining grounded in the core values and traditions they learned at Beechwood.
• Must have graduated within the last 20 years.

The Tiger Award honors unwavering loyalty and dedication to the Beechwood Independent School District itself. 

• This award is open to alumni, faculty, staff, parents or “Friends of Beechwood.”
• Award to an individual(s) who have served the school community at an extraordinary level. This person is a living embodiment of The Beechwood Way, having sustained a long-term commitment to perserving Beechwood’s traditions while supporting its future growth and innovations.

 The purpose of the Beechwood Athletic Hall of Fame is to honor Beechwood’s top student-athletes and individuals who have made a positive impact on the local community and to provide role models for today’s student-athletes.

Guidelines for nominations:

• A deceased nominee must have passed away at least two years prior to selection into the Hall of Fame
• No active member of the Hall of Fame Committee is eligible for nomination
• No individual may nominate him or herself.

Student-Athlete Criteria:

• Must have received a varsity letter in one or more sports
• Must have significantly contributed to the athletic teams and programs of Beechwood High School
• Must have graduated from Beechwood High School
• Must have graduated at least ten years prior to their selection to the Hall of Fame

Coaches’ Criteria:

• Must have significantly contributed to the athletic program of Beechwood High School
• Must have been out of coaching (in his/her primary sport) for at least five years
• A varsity coach with at least 20 years of coaching experience is automatically eligible, upon nomination, as soon as he/she discontinues coaching in his/her primary sport

THE NEXT GROUP OF HONOREES FOR THE ATHLETIC HALL OF FAME WILL BE RECOGNIZED DURING HOMECOMING. THE RECOGNITION DINNER WILL BE THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 25 AND ALL HONOREES WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE  HOMECOMING FOOTBALL GAME ON SEPTEMBER 26.
